You’ll start your day with another awesome breakfast before departing for Stavna village, nestled at an altitude of 1,650 m. This humble hamlet lies in the shadow of the majestic Komovi massif, and it is here where our journey to the summit of Kom Vasojevicki begins.
The Komovi Mountain, rising almost to a staggering 2,500 meters, stands as a stunning giant in the southeastern part of Montenegro. Despite its relatively small footprint, its towering heights and breathtaking vistas have led many to regard Komovi as the most beautiful mountain in Montenegro. Let’s see if you agree.
Once you arrive at Stavna’s expansive plateau, you can’t help but be immediately captivated by Kom Vasojevicki. This awe-inspiring peak lures us with its lofty promise of unforgettable panoramas. Our trek begins from Stavna, meandering through a mix of grassy and rocky terrains, nestled below the rocky massif on the northern side. After approximately 2.5 hours of ascent, we find ourselves at the magnificent Vera Pass (2,200 m).
The vantage point from here offers breathtaking views of the bordering Albanian mountains, most notably the Prokletije mountain range (also known as the Accursed Mountains, a place you’ll wander in our Peaks of the Balkans trek). The highest peak, Maja Jezerce (2,694 m), stands as a regal sentinel over the wider area.
From Vera Pass, you’ll press on towards the summit. It won’t be long before you’re relishing in the privilege of the unrivaled view from the peak of Kom Vasojevicki. Wow. Just wow.
The journey back to Stavna village will retrace your steps, each one filled with the satisfaction of your ascent.
